OKET/PLOGEN/SKOGEN
Part of group show Bothnia Salong
Västerbottens Museum, Umeå 2024
The works, skogsridå, plog and oket, is a series of sculptures consisting of sourced material from old barns, discarded objects and other artifacts. The sculptures draws on associations linked to practical tools used in farming or in domestic settings.
The form still alludes to the objects’ original functions but are given new meaning and form by being taken apart and put together again. The old cow bells are in their current state, silent, unused, and suspended in stillness. But still evoking the idea of movement and sound, hinting at something that was once called out. Through their physical form they hint at a more violent untold history , lost narratives still present in its material remnants.
