Rýmd Gallery, Reykjavik Iceland

Collaborative installation with Antonia González Alarcón
[drawing, text, sound, video,projection]

The Third Place was an exhibition at RÝMD, built from a collaborative installation with Annie Eliasson where all objects can be touched, smelled, explored: the possibilities are open for the visitor to create their own narrative through direct experimentation with the objects and their environment.

The installation featured several spaces created within the gallery, compiling various pieces in different media; artist's books, audio pieces, video, among others. All pieces were made during or based on material collected on a research trip to Vestmannaeyjar, on the island of Heimaey, in southern Iceland.

The Third Place is a piece that explores the limits of our bodies and our minds, that seeks to understand how location and landscape affect our perception; how we appropriate space and declare it as knowledge.
